Landing the internship should be the hard part.

The unfortunate reality is that many students struggle to cover their cost of living, even with the income from a paid internship.

With rents hitting highs in many metro areas, vacancy rates declining, and student housing unavailable to most students during the summer, some students are forced to decline internship offers if they aren’t close enough to live at home (or on a friend’s couch).

For the students who do accept, even an internship paying $20/hour for 40 hours per month barely covers the cost of living in cities like San Francisco, New York, and Seattle.

Landing an internship in college can make all of the difference in the world when it comes to applying for that all-important first full-time job and students should not be declining internships because they can’t afford to take it.

At Interns of Tomorrow, we believe that every student deserves the opportunity to accept the internship they worked so hard to obtain.
